If I could do anything I would..." inspire others to be better people by my own actions and beliefs. We, the teenagers, may only be a ripple in the water at first, but soon our true reflections can flood the world with positive people.

If I could do anything I would..."travel to distant worlds and faraway galaxies. Without shuttles or space suits and have total freedom to explore. Just like Google exists in a boundless world of the Internet, I too could travel the boundless universal worlds!

Dayton City School currently utilizes a text messaging notification system to enhance our current communication services during a school delay/closing or crisis situation. AlertU allows us to broadcast information, in real time, to the mobile devices of the students, parents, faculty and staff. Please be aware, this is a text message system that will only send TEXT to your SMS enabled mobile phone if you voluntarily sign up, it will not call your home, work and/or cell phone. Your mobile phone must be able to receive SMS (text) messages. Standard message rates may apply.

To sign up, enter your mobile number in the block to the right or text 'DCS' to '253788' (AlertU) then reply 'Y' to the welcome text message on your mobile phone.

Dayton City School has implemented GradeCam technology in every 3-8th grade classroom. GradeCam uses a mounted webcam to scan classroom tests and collect data to be used to aid instruction. Teachers are able to scan papers on the fly and discuss test results immediately. GradeCam also automatically posts student scores directly to Portal, Dayton City Schools online electronic grade book.

DCS News : LobbyGuard® Visitor Management System

The LobbyGuard kiosk enhances Dayton City School safety by recording all visitor traffic, running instant background checks, printing photo ID badges, and providing access to visitor traffic reports from anywhere on the web. This technology combined with the 15 RF-ID security doors and 21 camera digital surveillance system, makes Dayton City School a very safe place to learn. Note to visitors: An offical ID is required to visit past the main entrance security doors during school hours.

Dayton City School is now a member of Renaissance Place, a web based version of Accelerated Reader and STAR called AR Enterprise. This includes every AR quiz available... over 100,000 quizzes!

Parents can view up to the minute information on books read and quizzes passed, see progress toward reading goals, review quiz results, conduct book searches, sign up for email notifications when their child has completed an AR quiz, and much more. Student AR Login Required: The standard username format is the 1st letter of the student 1st name and then the 1st four letter of the student last name (John Smith is JSMIT) and the password is the student's 4 digit cafeteria number.
